Indian e-Visa for UK residents
British citizens and people from more than 170 other countries can visit India on an e-Visa. It’s applied for online, approved by email and stamped into your passport when you land. There are e-Visas for tourism, business, conferences, medical treatment, study, transit and more.

How long does an Indian e-Visa take?
Most complete applications are decided within a few working days. Apply at least 4 days before you arrive in India, and no more than 120 days before. We suggest 2 to 3 weeks ahead, so there’s time to fix anything.
Your Indian e-Visa arrives by email. Print it and carry it with your passport; immigration stamps the visa into your passport when you land.

Can I apply myself instead?
Yes. You can apply on the official site, indianvisaonline.gov.in, and pay only the government fee. People use us when they want a person to check everything, fix their photo and documents, and handle the form for them.
How early should I apply?
At least 4 days before you arrive in India, and no more than 120 days before. We recommend applying 2 to 3 weeks ahead in case anything needs correcting.
I have a British passport but my family is from Pakistan. Can I get an e-Visa?
Usually not. Indian rules don’t allow an e-Visa if your parents or grandparents were born in, or lived permanently in, Pakistan, even on a British passport. You’ll need a regular visa, and we can help with that.
What happens when I arrive in India?
Show your printed e-Visa at immigration. Your fingerprints and photo are taken, and the visa is stamped in your passport. You must enter through one of the airports or seaports approved for e-Visas.
How long is an Indian e-Visa valid?
It depends on the type: 30 days, 1 year or 5 years for tourism, and 1 year for business. Each visa page explains the rules.
