Indian e-Visa refused: the common reasons
- Photo or passport scan not meeting the rules
- Details that don’t match your passport exactly
- Pakistani origin, or a military or police background, when an e-Visa isn’t allowed
- Missing or unclear documents, such as a business card or hospital letter
- Answering a security question incorrectly
- Previous refusals or immigration problems not declared
Can I appeal?
There’s no formal appeal for an e-Visa refusal. You can make a new application with the problem fixed, or apply for a regular visa if the e-Visa isn’t right for you.
How we help after a refusal
Send us your refusal email and the details of your application. We’ll work out the likely reason, tell you whether to reapply for an e-Visa or switch to a regular visa, and prepare the new application with you.
How to avoid a refusal next time
Check your eligibility first, especially Pakistani origin and military or police service. Make sure your photo and passport scan meet the rules, and that every detail matches your passport exactly. Declare any previous refusals honestly. If your Indian e-Visa was refused because you weren’t eligible, apply for a regular visa instead.
